New York’s Mandarin Oriental residences project is finally completed

After more than four years since from day 1 of construction, the Mandarin Oriental Residences in New York is finally finished.

The site was managed by general contractor THE RINALDI GROUP, with whom MOMA Design had the opportunity to collaborate on many other projects.

The development deals with the renovation of a historic 29-story apartment building, once headquarters of Gucci fashion house, surrounded by renowned luxury stores, fine restaurants and monuments of the highest cultural interest, with Central Park just a short walk away.

The residence has 69 super-luxury residences, valued from $2.5 million to $15 million, all furnished with top-of-the-line products: European oak floors with bronze inlays, Crestron automation systems and lighting by Tilotson Design Associates, Molteni custom closet systems, Miele washers and dryers, Molteni kitchens with Dornbracht faucets galvanized 22-karat champagne gold.

The bathrooms feature floors with integrated heating, polished marble “French Vanilla” finish, which excellently accommodates MOMA Design bathroom products. For the occasion, the SHVO studio chose our ELITE INCA and SAPPHIRE INCA undermount tubs, DIAMOND TOWER freestanding washbasins for the service bathrooms, and DESK INCA undermount washbasins to match the master bathroom furniture.

On the 25th floor we find Boulud Privé, a private restaurant and bar run by star chef Daniel Boulud, which will be accessible to occupants of Mandarin’s New York and Beverly Hills properties, while on the 27th floor we find a panoramic outdoor pool overlooking Central Park, as well as a spa, fitness center, and an ever- present lounge area.

This project confirms MOMA Design’s willingness and ability to work successfully in a difficult market like New York City, where client expectations  are much higher than anywhere else in the world. In a context such as Manhattan, product quality, together with impeccable service, must be an absolute must.
