Glass bathtubs are quite in demand in modern bathroom design.
These bathtubs offer a unique combination of elegance, functionality and brightness, transforming the bathroom into a luxurious and comfortable space.
MOMA Design’s catalog includes two of our best-selling models, which combine Solid Surface and glass in an ultramodern way.
Let’s find out together why bathtubs with glass walls are a choice that may seem risky at times, but instead often proves to be ideal, as glass can adapt excellently to various styles of decor, from the most modern to the most classic.
why choose a bathtub with glass walls?
Elegance and modern design
Bathtubs with glass walls add a touch of sophistication and modernity to any bathroom. Glass is a versatile material that fits well with minimalist, contemporary and even classic styles. The transparency of glass immediately gives an elegant look and makes the room visually larger and more airy.
Enhanced brightness and sense of freedom
One of the main advantages of glass bathtubs is their ability to let light filter through, making the bathroom brighter and more welcoming. By shifting the focus from functionality to the emotional aspect, a glass bathtub can transform bath time into a luxurious spa experience. If opaque walls can make the user feel “embraced” and protected, glass walls can be disorienting at first, but quickly give a feeling of sensual freedom.
Versatility of design
MOMA Design’s bathtubs with glass walls can be customized according to space requirements, being available in both single and double version. Basically, the glass used is transparent type, but upon request this can be declined in extra-clear, smoked gray, bronzed and why not, even satin finish or decorated with the most diverse patterns, with the possibility of resuming the same style in other elements of the bathroom.
MODELS OF GLASS BATHTUBS PROPOSED BY MOMA DESIGN
Chaise Longue Vitrée
For more than two decades, MOMA Design has offered an iconic glass-walled bathtub called the Chaise Longue Vitrée. It is one of our team’s best-selling freestanding bathtubs, meeting the tastes of our customers around the world. This marvelous object features a double-backed shape that celebrates the perfection of the curved line thanks to the use of white Corian, which is also used to build its supporting base.
This unique silhouette, obtained by thermoforming, is visible from every angle precisely because of the glass walls that complete this project by Architect Ignazio Di Masi.
The Chaise Longue Vitrée bathtub is available in single or double version, capable of comfortably accommodating two people at the same time.
The base of this bathtub is also available in wood upon request, as desired by the prestigious London’s South Place hotel, which chose wenge wood to lend a classic touch to this ultra-modern-looking bathtub.
White color can also be substituted for all colors of Corian Dupont, where Deep Nocturne black is the most popular among those requested by our customers for this model.
But surprises don’t end there: the Chaise Longue Vitrée bathtub can accommodate several optionals inside, such as the waterfall filling from the overflow and the Airpool system, which enlivens the bathing moment thanks to jets of air, which escapes from discreet microholes positioned at the bottom of the tub. The fully equipped version of this tank was chosen for the ambitious floating rooms on the Seine project of l’Escale Royale.
Chaise Longue Rive Gauche
The Chaise Longue Rive Gauche tub is the “granddaughter” of the Chaise Longue Vitrée model and in some ways represents its stylistic evolution.
In this new model, glass walls become the supporting structure of the bathtub, which achieves previously unimagined levels of transparency. Elegant steel support bars bind the walls together, lending new modernity to the tub. Available only without an overflow, this tub elevates design to new heights of preciousness.
THE FUNCTIONAL ADVANTAGES OF BATHTUBS WITH GLASS WALLS
Resistance and Durability
Despite what you may think, glass is an extremely durable material. The glass used for bathtubs, and for all furniture applications in general, is tempered: glass tempering is a heat treatment that heats the sheets to a temperature of about 650°-700°, and then rapidly brings them to forced cooling. This treatment produces a process of crystalline reconstruction of the material, differentiating the surface structure from the internal structure and making the glass suitable for a wide variety of uses.
Glass is a durable material that retains its beauty over time without yellowing or wearing out.
Low environmental impact
Glass is a recyclable and environmentally friendly material, a sustainable choice for those who wish to reduce their environmental impact.
Minimum maintenance
It only takes a few simple steps to keep a glass product beautiful:
- often use gentle, glass-specific cleaners to avoid unsightly halos and scale stains.
- wipe with a dry cloth after each use to prevent residue buildup and keep the transparency of the glass intact.
- consider using specific anti-scale products to prevent staining and keep the glass bright over time.
- avoid overly aggressive abrasive products, which could scratch and damage the glass surface
In conclusion, bathtubs with glass walls are an ideal choice for those who want a modern, bright and functional bathroom. Thanks to their versatility and attractive aesthetics, these tubs can completely transform the look of a bathroom, creating a unique, relaxing and even sensual atmosphere.
MOMA Design’s bathtubs with glass walls are, of course, not among the cheapest offered by our Brand, but they are iconic and universally appreciated all over the world, proving to be an excellent investment in terms of beauty, durability and unique and inimitable style.
